Returning to the country after playing Laneway Festival earlier this year, Mac will celebrate the new year with punters in Lorne, Byron Bay and Marion Bay as he plays Falls Festival and Southbound Festival in Bussleton. He then heads to Melbourne to play three headline shows at 170 Russell before moving on to Sydney.
Mac will be supported at all shows bar one by GUM, which is the solo project of Tame Impala band member Jay Watson, as well as by Kirin J Callinan for the Sydney shows and Mesa Cosa, The Babe Rainbow and Free Time in Melbourne.
In conjunction with this announcement, Mac has also launched a new website and a fan club, which is run by his mum, Agnes DeMarco, and his manager Michelle Cable. It has been a busy period for Mac, releasing the mini-LP Another One just a year and a bit after his last LP Salad Days.
In between he’s been having barbeques, inviting fans to his house for coffee (via a bonus track on the mini-LP) and selling his old shoes. There must hardly be a dull moment in the life of Mac DeMarco.
