SUCCESS will consist of a series of performance pieces and vignettes from Liam where the concept of success is questioned and analysed. It will be presented alongside a filmic collaboration with American directors Anthony and Alex, who directed the video for Finn’s single ‘Helena Bonham Carter’.
Anthony and Alex described SUCCESS as “An experimental meditation on the human and technological ideology of success.” Although he will be joined by various friends on stage, Liam will be performing mainly as a one man band, which he hasn’t done since his solo debut album I’ll Be Lightning.
As well as this performance at ACMI, he will be playing headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney with fellow songwriter Dan Kelly, who this year released his fourth album Leisure Panic. Kelly is a much celebrated musician, with seven ARIA nominations and many J Award and AMP nominations, as well as working with his uncle Paul Kelly on four albums and playing guitar in his touring band.
