The two will come together as one with the release of this special limited edition Kiss Army/Magpie Army collaborative tshirt, celebrating the bands return to Australia as a part of their 40th anniversary world tour.
Though at first this might seem to most an unholy union of biblical propotions, upon closer inspection the similarities between KISS and the Collingwood Football Club are rather obvious.
Both have a fanatical (bordering on maniacal) supporter base and both are arguably the most popular entity of their kind, both love to let their tongues flap around a little too much and when you add in the fact that they both sport the same colours, it’s really a no brainer.
The band’s founding members Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons are both huge football fans. Together they’ve launched the only football team of any kind in the great LA area, the LA KISS. The team competes in the Arena Football League in America, so it’s fair to say that the two of them have earned their football credentials.
The t-shirts are certainly a unique design, and one that you’re absolutely not going to find anywhere else on any other tour. I’m sure that there’s plenty of people out there who are die-hard supporters of both KISS and the Collingwood Football Club, and I’m even more certain that they’ll be thrilled at this news.
