Falls Festival announces all-Australian lineups for their 2020/21 events

The festival organisers are referring to the event as a special ‘home grown’ edition of Falls that aims to bolster the Australian live music industry, ensuring that money stays in the local economy and provides support for the Australian music community.

Additionally, Falls Festival 2020/21 will also help to raise funds for Support Act, who’ve been the unsung heroes of the music community during this crisis.

In a statement shared today, Falls Festival said that it is still actively considering all health precautions to ensure the events are compliant with whatever health measures may be in effect, saying that “Health and safety is always our number one priority, so as the recovery process begins and more information becomes available, we will continue working with and taking direction from the health authorities.

“But today we’re letting you know that while we’re living in strange times, we’re choosing the bright side. Our team is moving ahead and we hope we’ll be seeing you all in December/January for an all Aussie edition of Falls Festival.”

The news comes a month after industry veteran Michael Chugg predicted that international artists would not be able to tour Australia for at least 12 months after the crisis. Falls Festival was also forced to cancel its Lorne leg this year after the festival site was deemed unsafe due to extreme weather conditions – fingers crossed everything goes to plan this year.
