Presented by the Australian Music Association, the Sydney Guitar Show will feature over 80 major and boutique brands spanning the spectrum from Fender, Gibson, Marshall, Ibanez, ESP, and PRS through to Australian makers including Cilia Custom Guitars, Ormsby Guitars, Cole Clark Guitars, Fenech Guitars, and the launch of Mestric Guitars from Port Macquarie.

“We have been running a successful and popular guitar show in Melbourne for a decade and people always ask us, why not Sydney?” shares Alex Masso, Producer of the Sydney Guitar Show and CEO of the Australian Music Association. “We’re answering their question with a big debut at Sydney Showground.”

Sun 8 March: Sydney Showground, Sydney, LIC AA

The first program announcement includes Lismore-based Americana duo Hussy Hicks, Australian blues icon Ray Beadle, trailblazing guitarist and producer Godriguez, 2025 ARIA Award winning bassist Lucy Clifford, and YouTubers SuperFunAwesomeHappyTime Pedal Show, with more artists to be announced.

Sydney Showground Hall 5 at Olympic Park offers easy public transport access, parking, and accessibility from all parts of the city—crucial for an event expecting visitors from across NSW and beyond. The multi-purpose venue provides the space needed for extensive brand showcases, multiple stages, interactive displays, and dedicated rooms for specific experiences.

Beyond the usual expo format, the Sydney Guitar Show introduces several new elements designed to broaden the appeal beyond seasoned players. The Make Music Room will host a full program of workshops and interactive sessions covering playing styles, songwriting, and technique. A dedicated Kids’ Room, in partnership with Big Music, offers guitars to try and helpful advice for younger players and total beginners.

Quieter mornings run from 10am-12pm on both days, with no amps in the exhibitor halls until midday—perfect for families or anyone wanting to explore without the full-volume experience. The Studio showcases recording and pro audio equipment for home recording, content creation, and live performance, whilst the popular Pedal Party, curated by Pedal Empire, features Australian pedal makers.

“The goal that ties all this together is to create a place and an experience where people are excited about the guitar,” explains Masso. “Whether you want to check out gear or enjoy some live music, whether you’re one of Australia’s top professional guitarists or a total beginner, whether you’re obsessed with guitars or just curious, whether you’re ready to buy something or just want to hang out with other guitarists, the Sydney Guitar Show has something to offer.”

The Sydney Guitar Show runs Saturday 7 March (10am-5pm) and Sunday 8 March (10am-4pm) at Sydney Showgrounds, Olympic Park. Super Early Bird tickets are on sale now until 25 December. Kids under 12 attend free.
