The wireless coordination platform now offers single-manufacturer device control in its free tier, streamlining multi-brand RF management for audio professionals.
If you’ve ever watched an RF manager frantically switching between three different software programs mid-show, you’ll understand why SoundBase exists.
At ISE 2026, the world’s biggest AV show, SoundBase is unveiling a game-changing update to its free wireless coordination app. Real-time control of one manufacturer’s wireless devices per project is now included in the Standard Edition—a feature previously locked behind the Pro paywall.

Created by audio veterans Matt Dale and Donny Kuser, SoundBase has rapidly become the go-to solution for live sound professionals tired of juggling manufacturer-specific applications. “Before SoundBase, audio teams were juggling multiple manufacturer-specific applications, spreadsheets, and PDFs across disparate systems,” Dale explains. “We’ve unified these critical functions into one intuitive platform that allows professionals to focus on what matters most—delivering flawless live sound experiences.”
The timing of this announcement isn’t accidental. “In time for ISE 2026, we are rolling out our new business model,” adds Kuser. “The free SoundBase SE version gives engineers free, per-project realtime control of one manufacturer’s networked devices—the same hands-on device control that used to require Pro.”
Currently supported brands include Shure, Wisycom, Sound Devices and Sennheiser, with more manufacturers and devices coming soon. Engineers can switch their manufacturer of choice from production to production, though only one brand can be controlled per project. Pro users retain multi-vendor control for rental fleets and large tours.
Beyond device control, SoundBase SE remains the widest-functioning free RF planning app available, compatible with wireless systems from twenty major manufacturers. The cloud-based platform enables real-time team collaboration from any browser, with automatic syncing ensuring everyone has current project data.
Features include a crowd-sourced spectrum database visualised on interactive maps, in-app team messaging, and shareable reports with static links that auto-update as collaborators edit.
What sets SoundBase apart is its community-driven development. Dale learned coding whilst Kuser handled design, both drawing from their RF and audio tech backgrounds. Their Discord community of over 3,000 members actively shapes the platform’s evolution.
“We’re sound people at heart. We know the struggles and pain points of our industry, so we’re building tools for people like us,” explains Kuser. “We’re not just developing software for users; we’re building it with them.”
