Aimed at broadcast, post and recording rooms short on space, it keeps the whole monitoring chain digital from input to output.
Studio Technologies has added a new StudioComm monitor controller to its line, and the compact Model 762 Stereo Level Control gets its first outing at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam. Built for Dante audio-over-Ethernet setups, it’s aimed at recording, broadcast and post rooms that need monitor control without a rack full of gear.

At its simplest, the Model 762 lets an engineer monitor two stereo sources across one or two stereo Dante loudspeaker systems, keeping the signal digital the whole way through. There are no analogue ins or outs anywhere on the unit, so nothing leaves the digital domain between the source and the speakers. A configuration option also turns the second stereo output into a headphone cue feed by way of an external headphone amplifier.
Connectivity runs to two stereo Dante inputs and two stereo Dante outputs, which covers broadcast routers, matrix intercom systems, video editing platforms, amplifiers and powered speakers. AES67 interoperability is supported, and the unit works with Dante Domain Manager for larger networked and enterprise setups. Internally it handles four Dante receive and four Dante transmit channels, with 32-bit processing, 48 kHz sampling and bit depths up to 32.
Deployment is kept simple, with a single Power over Ethernet connection that handles both data and power, cutting down on cabling. The unit sits within the IEEE 802.3af standard as a class 2 low-power device. Day-to-day control comes from two pushbuttons, a rotary encoder, LED indicators and a graphics display that shows output level, system status and Dante network information, all housed in a steel tabletop enclosure meant for rooms short on space.

Setup runs through the free STcontroller app for Windows and macOS, which covers input source selection, output dim value and stereo pair behaviour. Firmware updates install the same way, leaving room for features to be added down the track. The Model 762 is on show at the Nixer Audio stand, 8.F96.
