As Cubase 11 did, the DAW’s workflow has received significant attention to make composing, recording, and mixing “even more creatively rewarding”.

MIDI controllers are now automatically detected with their Remote Script concept mapping controls instantly, while allowing users to create their own should no script be detected with the Mapping Assistant.

Pitch editing and corrections has been made easier with the new Scaling Assistant in VariAudio while Chord Track enables Cubase to lay out the chord progression for you.

“If the detection does not match your scale, the Chord Assistant can suggest the nearest alternatives based on the following chords,” Steinberg said.

New to Cubase we see the Free Warp tool in AudioWarp which allows users to adjust multiple tracks at once in Group Editing, while the new phase-coherent AudioWarp mode helps you avoid phase issues.

There is also a new FX Modulator which will create custom shaped LFOs and modulate up to six integrated effect modules at once, and a new limiter plugin called Raiser.

Cubase also features Steinberg’s new dongle-free licensing system and native Apple Silicon support, plus a range of other new upgrades for music producers.
