The ZEN-Core engine delivers over 11,000 sounds with an optimised interface and four-layer architecture built into GALAXIAS version 1.8 or later.
Roland has released ZENOLOGY GX, bringing its ZEN-Core Synthesis System directly into GALAXIAS as a DAW instrument. The new system uses the same engine that powers flagship hardware like FANTOM and JUPITER-X.

ZENOLOGY GX is a software synthesizer that comes loaded with over 11,000 presets across all genres. The newly designed interface and optimised engine load significantly faster than previous versions, while an advanced browser makes finding sounds straightforward. You can build scenes with up to four layers, each with its own key range, effects, and sequencer.
Synthesis architecture
Each of the four layers pulls from a library of over 7,000 waveforms, combining virtual analog synthesis with PCM samples. You get nine classic virtual analog waveforms (including Supersaw), ten filter types modelled on iconic Roland synths like the JUPITER, and eleven LFO shapes for movement and modulation. Step LFOs can be tempo-synced with 37 different curves per step for rhythmic effects.
Creative tools include arpeggiators, chord functions, and 16 macro controls that can be automated with LFOs for hands-on performance tweaking. Over 90 Roland effects are built in, from lush reverbs to classic JUNO-106 and CE-1 choruses, plus the SDD-320 Dimension D and DJ-FX Looper.
Cross-platform compatibility
The sounds you create in ZENOLOGY GX can be exported to ZENOLOGY Pro and ZEN-Core hardware like FANTOM, JUPITER-X, JUNO-X, RD-88, MC-101, and MC-707. This means your studio patches transfer directly to your live rig without rebuilding them from scratch.
Each layer has its own effects and sequencing, so you can build complex, evolving sounds in a single instance, or stack multiple instances for even deeper arrangements. Whether you need pads, leads, drums, or bass, the sonic range covers decades of Roland’s synthesis legacy.
ZENOLOGY GX is available now as part of GALAXIAS version 1.8 or later. Head to Roland for more.
