The humbucker recreates the tone Mustaine achieved on Megadeth’s 1990 album, Rust In Peace, a record that places highly as one of the most influential metal albums of all time. Mustaine’s signature humbuckers is inspired by the JB model he used in the bridge when recording the album, a product which contributed to his signature sound.
Compared to the original, the Thrash Factor has a tight low-end, slightly scooped mids, and more aggressive highs. It’s hand built in Santa Barbara, California, and also features a matte black finish with Mustaine’s signature inscribed on the surface.
