The latest run of Gibson Originals, which aim to meticulously replicate the classic solid body guitars of the ’50s and ’60s in their sound and feel, features old favourites like the TV Yellow Les Paul Special, Goldtop Les Pauls and a Pelham Blue SG, as well as two era-specific variants of their Flying V and Explorer models: a ’50s themed suite with Natural finishes, and a very cool ’70s duo with uncovered Burstbuckers and a Creamy White finish.
There’s also Thunderbird and SG basses, as well as an assortment of Maestro and Sideways Vibrola-equipped SG Standards, a Firebird and a couple of Les Paul and SG Junior models on offer – as always, you’re able to get something for everybody here.
If you’re up for something a little less era-specific that won’t hurt your savings too hard, the Modern series is probably more to your liking. Gibson have added two different variations of the Les Paul Tribute to this collection: one with P-90 pickups, the other with regular humbuckers. You can also snag these cost-effective models in a range of nitro finishes, including Worn White, Ebony Vintage Gloss, Natural Walnut and the ever cool Vintage Cherry.
