Moog tease new vocoder synthesiser

The Unnamed Product Is Expected To Be Unveiled At Moogfest

Synthesiser stalwarts Moog have sent electronic music nuts into a frenzy overnight, sharing a visual teaser for their upcoming Moogfest event which appears to tease a new vocoder from the Asheville company.

In a teaser trailer for their Engineers Workshop, a Moog employee can be seen utilising the new Eurorack module vocoder synth in conjunction with a Mother DFAM, combining the two units to create wildly affected vocal treatments. The new vocoder can be seen at the bottom of the rack, and appears to boast a gooseneck microphone and the ability to be controlled by a host of faders – an anomaly when compared to Moog’s traditional knob-driven design.

Moog are famous for using their Moogfest Engineers Workshops to launch new products – back in 2017, they used the festival to reveal both the powerful paraphonic Subsequent 37 CV, while last year’s festivities saw them unleash the Grandmother in all its semi-modular glory. We can’t wait to hear more – check out the teaser video below.
