The Gold Rush fuses the shape and specs of a traditional Les Paul Goldtop with a more streamlined, modern design process. Perry and Gibson’s latest fling features a single 498T humbucker in the bridge position and a two-point Wilkinson/Gotoh VS100N tremolo system, as well as a rear belly cut for comfortable, Strat-like playing experience. The guitar also boasts a nifty push/pull coil-split on the tone knob and a single volume control to dial in the desired amount of sauce.
The model also bears a rather familiar ’59 profile mahogany body and neck, which means you’ll be blessed with the best when playing this shred machine.
The Joe Perry Gold Rush Signature also features the unique hand distressed Antique Gold finish, lovingly reliced at the Gibson Custom Shop. If you’re looking to snap one of these models up, you’ll need to act fast: Gibson are only releasing a total of 150 models, 25 of which are signed by Perry himself. Hopefully the eye-popping price doesn’t deter any Aerosmith super fans – head here to suss it for yourself.
