Fender release the Rarities Flame Top Koa Stratocaster

Featuring a beautiful figured koa top and a solid ash body, the Fender Flame Top Koa Strat is definitely an eye-catching instrument, particularly when you throw its rather interesting electronic components into the mix. This one’s actually fitted with a bridge humbucker designed by none other than Mr. Tim Shaw, and features a Filter’Tron cover for a super cool Gretsch inspired look. The neck and middle pickups (both Fender Hot ’59’s – if you know you know) also follow suit with their Gold Foil coverings, making for one very #aesthetic instrument indeed.

Elsewhere, the Flame Top Koa Strat boasts a modern-C European maple neck with 21 narrow-tall frets, as well as a bone nut, vintage six-point tremolo and aged white plastic pickguard and switch tips. Hear it in action above – we reckon this is right up there with some of the coolest Rarities guitars from this year.
