Made from locally sourced mango tonewoods from the Java region Indonesia, the Neptune Blue Moon features a unique blue burst finish to highlight the natural grain variation of mango – a tonewood we’ve not seen used much thus far in the industry. Faith Guitars claim that the mango tonewood delivers a ‘good projection in the upper-bass frequencies and a real depth in the midranges’, which is bound to deliver a much more moody tone than a standard spruce/mahogany dreadnaught model.
Elsewhere, the Neptune Blue Moon features a mahogany neck, Macassan figured ebony fretboard and Grover tuners, as well as a Fishman INK3 preamp with an onboard tuner and three-band EQ for when you need to plug in. Faith Guitars are renowned for their use of locally sourced timbers, and it makes sense for them to highlight the biodiversity of the region, particularly given the amount of instruments made in Indonesia today. We’re really excited to hear how this one sounds!
