The February collection features three pretty famous Ernie Ball Music Man silhouettes: the StingRay, Majesty and Valentine. The team have apparently decided that brown is indeed the flavour of the month with these models, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing – they look pretty nice in their natural tones. Suss ’em all out below.
The BFR Majesty, a favourite among shredding communities, is limited to 60 pieces worldwide, and boasts an incredible augmented spalted maple shield over a Jester Red finish – an exclusive for this guitar. It’s also got a deluxe roasted maple neck and ebony fretboard with cream binding, while DiMarzio Dream Catcher and Rain Maker humbuckers help seep out those dulcet tones. They’ve also got cream covers for a lip-smacking aesthetic touch.
Next up is the BFR Valentine, a twist on Maroon 5 guitarist James Valentine’s signature guitar with the company. This one features a double-bound ash body with a maple top, and also boasts a Walnut Flame finish for a prestigious look and feel. Ash and maple also makes for a killer tonewood combination as well, so we reckon this one will be a ripper plugged in. It’s also got a roasted figured maple neck with a herringbone inlay, while custom made Ranger pickups provide a wider frequency range than normal to let you enjoy a healthy gamut of tonal possibilities. This one is limited to 57 models worldwide.
Finally, there’s the BFR StingRay5 Special, which is limited to 89 pieces worldwide. This one’s for the low end theorists out there – it’s got a lightweight okoume body and a custom Ginger Burst sparkle finish on the body, neck and headstock, resulting in a dazzling looking instrument. Elsewhere, this one’s got chrome hardware, a black three-ply pickguard and contrasting chrome knobs.
