Celestion's compact HF driver gains an industry-standard screw-thread for portable PA and install builds.
Celestion has released a screw-thread version of its CDX1-1412 compression driver, the new CDX1-1413. The addition is a 35mm screw-thread fitting, an industry-standard thread that screws straight into horn flares built for threaded connections, so cabinet and horn designers can fit it without adapters. Threaded horns are common in portable PA and install gear, and the 1413 mounts to them directly.

It’s a 25mm exit neodymium HF driver, and it keeps the compact size of the 1412 at 60mm across and 0.4kg. It handles 70W continuous (35W AES) with 107dB sensitivity across 1,500 to 20,000Hz, and a recommended minimum crossover of 2,000Hz at 12dB/oct. A 34mm edgewound copper-clad aluminium voice coil pairs with a one-piece polyimide film diaphragm and surround, set in a rigid thermoplastic body, and acoustic foam inside the cover cuts cavity resonances and reflections to keep the top end clean.
The small size suits tight cabinets, along with multiple-driver horns and manifolds where several drivers share one flare.

Designed and built at Celestion’s Ipswich headquarters, the CDX1-1413 drops into the same designs as the 1412 for anyone who needs a threaded fit.
