Victory Amplification has announced the PowerValve 200, a compact 200-watt valve power amplifier designed to bridge the gap between modern digital rigs and the feel of a real guitar cabinet.

Easy to set up, the PowerValve 200 connects your modeller, preamp, or pedalboard to the balanced input, runs the output into a real guitar cabinet, and the amp does the rest. Central to the design is Victory’s Valve React Circuit (VRC), which activates an EF91 (CV4014) valve to add harmonic richness, touch sensitivity, and dynamic response to the signal. For those who want a completely transparent path, the valve stage can be bypassed via a front panel switch.
Victory chief designer Martin Kidd explained the thinking behind it. “Players told us they still wanted to feel a guitar speaker cabinet moving air on stage – something that doesn’t quite happen with FRFR cabinets. The subtle harmonic content generated by a valve stage creates slight asymmetry in the waveform – and that’s where the feel comes from.”
Early feedback from players has been strong. Ryan Morgan, Head of Global Sales at Neural DSP, said the PowerValve 200 “genuinely exceeded our expectations”, noting that paired with the Quad Cortex, “the added tube stage delivers an immediate improvement to the signal.” Guitarist Rabea Massaad added that the VRC “really brings my presets to life and gives them that extra tube-amp style thump that feels great under the fingers.”
