Sydney-based RØDE has unveiled the RØDECaster Video Core and RØDECaster Sync, a new integration feature that connects the console with the RØDECaster Pro II and Duo audio interfaces.
RØDE has been steadily building out its RØDECaster ecosystem, and the Video Core is the latest piece of that puzzle. Following the RØDECaster Video S released in November last year, the Video Core is aimed at video podcasters, solo creators, and live streamers who want broadcast-quality production without the complexity of traditional broadcast hardware. It’s compact, software-friendly, and built in RØDE’s Sydney facility.

RØDECaster Sync connects the Video Core to a RØDECaster Pro II or Duo via USB-C, merging the two units into a single production hub – one surface handling both audio and video, with shared mixing, recording, and expanded inputs and outputs. For creators who’ve already invested in a RØDECaster audio setup, it’s a relatively clean path into video production.
CEO Damien Wilson described it as “a pivotal moment in the evolution of content creation”, adding that the RØDECaster range supports “every creator, no matter their skill level or workflow.”
RØDECaster Video Core key features:
- Switches between up to four video sources across five fully customisable scenes
- Octa-core CPU – the same processor as the flagship RØDECaster Video
- Three Full HD (1080p) HDMI inputs with auto frame rate conversion, plus one configurable HDMI output
- Two Neutrik combo jacks with Revolution Preamps for XLR microphones, instruments, or line sources
- APHEX audio processing, including EQ, compressor, noise gate, de-esser, Aural Exciter, Big Bottom, and Compellor
- Up to four NDI inputs and one output via Ethernet, with support for PTZ network cameras
- Pairs with the free RØDE Capture app to use an iPhone as a dual-camera source
- ISO recording to external USB storage for full post-production flexibility
- EDL export for DaVinci Resolve
- Dual USB-C audio interfaces for simultaneous connection to two computers or mobile devices
- RØDECaster Sync compatibility with RØDECaster Pro II and Duo
Alongside the hardware launch, RØDE has pushed out firmware updates across the RØDECaster range. The RØDECaster Video line gains EDL timeline export for DaVinci Resolve, expanded webcam compatibility via MJPEG support, and flexible media import for non-standard video formats. The RØDECaster Duo gets a notable upgrade too – total audio channels increase from seven to nine, and wireless inputs no longer displace combo inputs, meaning XLR and wireless sources can run simultaneously.
The RØDECaster Video Core is available to pre-order now at rode.com. Firmware updates for supported consoles are accessible through the RØDECaster App.
