Peter Hook & The Light announce ‘Joy Division: A Celebration’ Australian shows

Words by Will Brewster

Catch the indie bass icon down under in 2022.

Manchester music legend Peter Hook has revealed a run of Australian tour dates to celebrate the discography of post-punk pioneers Joy Division next year.

‘Joy Division: A Celebration’ will see Peter Hook & The Light perform the band’s two seminal albums Unknown Pleasures and Closer in full, as well as a smattering of B Sides and rarities from the group’s back catalogue.

Additionally, each show will kick off with the band performing an opening set full of New Order material – just in case you forgot how many influential bands Hooky’s been a part of.

The tour will see the iconic bassist and his backing band make their way to most major cities around the country, with the band kicking things off in Melbourne before heading to Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth in February / March of 2022.

Recently, Peter Hook teamed up with Yamaha for a limited edition BPPH bass guitar, honouring the iconic bassist with his own signature model for use in the studio and onstage.

Check out all the tour dates below. Presale goes on sale from tomorrow (Thursday February 25) at 12pm AEDT.
