Could post-pandemic become a genre? Nope, sounds like shit. But could there have been a greater time for emo to make a comeback than after such a time?

The band is finally set to launch their reunion tour that the pandemic interrupted last year and they’ve just dropped this six-minute track to make sure we’re ready.

The song is produced by lead singer Gerard Way, Doug McKean, and lead guitarist Ray Toro, with McKean also taking on the recording engineer job.

2014’s ‘Fake Your Death’ was initially slated for their incomplete fifth album but was instead included on the greatest hits compilation May Death Never Stop You in the same year.

Listen to ‘The Foundations of Decay’ below.

MCR’s reunion tour kicks off in the U.K on May 16. Find tickets for their Australian dates next March here.
