Mushroom Group teams up with the Victorian government for new live music series

As part of Victoria Together, the state government has partnered with Mushroom Group for The State Of Music, a weekly live streamed series featuring exclusive interviews with musicians and live performances from some of Australia’s hottest emerging and established acts.

Curated and professionally recorded and filmed by Mushroom Group, the series looks to be a high-production affair. Broadcasting each Sunday night from 7:30pm on YouTube, Facebook and the Victoria Together website, The State Of Music will be hosted by a stream of special guests, kicking off this weekend.

The first episode will feature Birds of Tokyo, Diesel, G Flip and James Reyne, with Mushroom’s Chairman and Founder, Michael Gudinski also jumping on for a chat about the recent success of his Music From The Home Front event with Jimmy Barnes. The episode will be hosted by radio favourite, Rosie Beaton.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of Premier Daniel Andrews’ and the Victorian Government’s vision to deliver Australian music into people’s lounge rooms each week,” said Gudinski.

“Melbourne is one of the great music cities in the world and the leading music city in Australia.  While we are currently unable to experience music in Victoria’s celebrated live venues this great initiative will play a part in ensuring our musicians and those that work in the music industry have a future.”

In addition to providing a platform for Australian musicians, Victoria Together will be your one-stop shop for local entertainment, including ACMI film screenings, Zoos Victoria’s live streams and virtual tours of galleries statewide.

“Victorians have done the right thing by staying at home, and we’re thanking them by bringing them the best of Victoria’s creative talents to their living rooms,” said Victorian Premier, Daniel Andrews.

“We’re proudly the cultural capital of Australia and we’ll do everything we can to support our creative industries through this pandemic, so they’re in the best position to support the many thousands of jobs that rely on this sector,” he said.
