The ceremony is set to go down Sunday January 31.
The nominees for the 63rd Grammy Awards have today been announced, celebrating the most significant artists and releases of the 2019 – 2020 period.
This year’s nominations are led by none other than Beyoncé, who netted nine nominations despite not releasing a full-length project throughout the eligibility period. She’s up for Song Of The Year and Record Of The Year for her solo release ‘Black Parade’, as well as receiving another three nods for her appearance on Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘Savage’ remix.
Elsewhere, Taylor Swift and Roddy Ricch are also up for six awards, while Alabama Shakes front woman Brittany Howard received five nominations for her phenomenal solo debut Jaime. Flume and Tame Impala were among this year’s Australian nominees, with the latter receiving two nominations for Best Rock Song and Best Alternative Music Album.
Phoebe Bridgers and Billie Eilish also received four nominations a piece, while Fiona Apple received three nominations for her astounding release Fetch The Bolt Cutters – yet somehow, was left out of consideration for the major Album, Song and Record Of The Year categories.
Other notable omissions from this year’s awards include The Weeknd, who despite releasing one of the year’s most commercially successful projects in After Hours, was snubbed entirely by the Grammy committee, as was Bob Dylan’s rousing late career gem in Rough and Rowdy Ways.
Check out all the major category nominees for the 2021 Grammy Awards below. This year’s ceremony is set to go down on Sunday January 31, 2021 – whether or not it’ll be a live-stream is still anyone’s guess at this stage.
