Tech Lead – Splash (Brisbane)

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Solid experience developing software products, through the entire SDLC including maintenance, improvements and scaling.
  • Exposure to multiple programming languages and frameworks with solid experience in JavaScript (preferred).
  • Experience developing and supporting systems deployed on AWS or GCP.
  • Experience with microservice and serverless architectures.
  • Deep understanding and experience with agile methodologies (including TDD and CI/CD) ideally in a fast growing startup environment or software product company.
  • Self-motivated, initiative taker – with the ability to work well within a semi-remote, cross-discipline, and iterative team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and mentoring skills.

Tasks / Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead technical decisions, working closely with the Product Owner, Senior Software Engineer, CTO & CEO.
  • Be responsible for architecture, design, planning, project management, documentation, deployment and maintenance of our core Product Splash Premium.
  • Build and maintain a scalable and reliable product that can handle millions of users and global customer base.
  • Ship working software often, iterate and be relentless in the pursuit for continuous improvement.
  • Assist in recruitment of team members and mentor juniors; lead by example and demonstrate strong agile practices.
  • Manage and build strong relationships with internal team members and external partners.

Sr Music Programmer – MTV via Network Ten (Sydney)

MTV are looking for a maternity cover for their Senior Music Programmer. Someone with a broad knowledge of musical genres, a strong understanding of the music ecosystem, and a good sense of communities and behaviours in relation to music and pop-culture. Someone to identify and curate first rate music playlist experiences across our music channels and demonstrate a passion for performance-oriented analytics.

Based in Sydney, and starting on November 15th 2021, the role of Senior Music Programmer reports to the Music and Programming Manger and will also partner closely with the wider Programming and Music teams, both locally and Internationally.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Background in music programming, television broadcast, music journalism, or relevant content programming experience across Australia and/or New Zealand.
  • Passion for and knowledge of a broad array of musical genres, eras, pop-culture and cultural trends with a focus on the Australian and New Zealand markets.
  • Team spirit, excellent work ethic, friendly with a can-do attitude.
  • Have a good network in local media and music industries.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work independently, and with a diverse range of functions and team members both locally and internationally.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and a very strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and working to strict deadlines.
  • Music and/or content scheduling software experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of television ratings measurements a plus.

Tasks / Responsibilities Include:

  • Shaping MTV’s music offering in generating imaginative and compelling music programming schedules, being quick to implement schedule changes for relevant news and emerging trends.
  • Developing and executing MTV’s music strategy through an understanding of and passion for music, and pop-culture – both locally and internationally.
  • Being responsible for day-to-day music programming of ANZ MTV music channels – delivering daily logs on time, and channel grids in conjunction with contractual lead-times, while maintaining and managing the music databases.
  • Working closely with Music Programming Manager and music industry contacts to develop and implement new ways to promote artists, including commercial partnerships, interviews, live shows, digital media opportunities and more.
  • Awareness of and adherence to music video broadcast regulatory codes, ensuring all restrictions on scheduled content are rigorously respected.
  • Monitoring ratings performance, media, and competitor environment to create strategies for continued ratings successes across all music channels.

Audio Engineer – Made In Katana (Sydney)

Made In Katana (MIK) is a multidisciplinary Creative Studio bringing brands to life through storytelling.

MIK is made up of designers, audio engineers, copywriters, developers and social experts – based in Adelaide, Sydney, Singapore, Europe and the US. Our clients include Spotify, Sony Music Australia, Warner Music Global, Universal Music, Foxtel, Paramount, EMI Music, ABC, Triple J, Entertainment One.

They’re looking for an ambitious Audio Engineer to join their gorgeous Erskineville studios. You’ll be using your expertise to record, edit and mix audio advertisements and podcasts.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • 3-5 years of experience as an audio engineer
  • Advanced knowledge of Logic and Protools
  • High level of familiarity with digital audio recording equipment and software
  • Experience with VO recording, mixing, and direction
  • Strong understanding of audio post-production workflow and codecs
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a creative environment
  • Outstanding written and verbal skills

Theatre Technician – Cairns Performing Arts Centre (Cairns)

The Cairns Performing Arts Centre (CPAC) is a premier facility that brings the city to life and provides the people of Cairns with the finest performing arts experiences and a broad range of entertainment. Hosting an array of events and performances including plays, musical theatre, dance, comedy and contemporary and classical music performances, CPAC houses two venues, the main theatre with a seating capacity of 940 people and the studio with a seating capacity of 400.

They are now seeking expressions of interest for highly skilled and experienced Theatre Technicians to join our Cultural Services team as part of their casual pool.

The casual Theatre Technician is responsible for the technical running and operation of the Cairns Performing Arts Centre including stage operations, lighting, sound, audio visual and mechanical. Applicants should have practical experience in use of theatre equipment, production of theatre performances and technical presentation. Applicants with extensive experience working in a multi-functional performing art centre will be highly regarded.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Certificate III in Live Production, Theatre and Events (Technical Operations) or ability to obtain.
  • Current C Class Drivers licence (or ability to obtain)
  • Extensive industry experience and operating skills in theatre audio, lighting, and/or vision systems.
  • High level of operational competency in technical theatre, including lighting/audio and stage mechanics.
  • Sound level of operational competency in audio/lighting for technical theatre.
  • Sound understanding of production requirements of the performing arts and entertainment industry.
  • An understanding of relevant WH&S principles and legislation.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer service.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
