Lecturer of Music Production – SAE Institute (Byron Bay)

SAE is recognised for providing students with access to the best industry equipment and facilities, employing teaching staff with strong industry experience and delivering hands on teaching and learning in small class environments. The Institute engages with industry to develop curriculum that is relevant to local and global workforce needs. Work placements and internships are embedded in SAE programs are pathways to employment.

Located in idyllic Byron Bay and reporting operationally to the Campus Manager and functionally to the Academic Coordinator, you will deliver classes and workshops, engage in assessment and marking processes, and deliver student support and administration tasks.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Proven experience teaching songwriting and/or music production at a tertiary level
  • Hold an AQF Level 9 equivalency or higher, in a related discipline;
  • Possess superior interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Student-focused;
  • Teamwork;
  • Proficient in the use of industry specific software / hardware and processes;
  • Excellent understanding of transferable skills;

Venue Technician – Music Market – Music Victoria (Melbourne)

The Victorian Music Development Office (VMDO) is hiring for a new position: Music Market Venue Technician. The Venue Technician is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Music Market to ensure its safe and optimal use as the headquarters for the Victorian music industry, subject to the terms of the operation agreement.

Tasks / Responsibilities Include:

  • Under the guidance of the Music Market Manager, manage the day-to-day operations of the venue and facilities to ensure the delivery of high-quality service and experiences for artists and hirers, enhancing the reputation of Music Market as a valuable and desirable venue
  • Provide excellent customer service support to all hirers, artists and patrons
  • Ensure potential presentations and events are assessed as feasible and appropriate for Music Market from a safety, technical and production perspective 
  • Liaise closely with Music Market Manager to understand total needs of hirers and to ensure needs are met safely and within cost parameters
  • Interpret pre-production information and ensure that event delivery meets hirers expectations in so far as is practicable
  • Respond flexibly and adaptably to changing requirements of the hirer 
  • Manage the engagement of specialist technical and production expertise and resources where required by presenters including additional technical staff
  • Oversee safe and efficient venue production set ups, event delivery and related processes
  • In consultation and under the direction of the Music Market Manager ensure compliance and advise artists, hirers and contractors about OHS, risk management and sustainability policy requirements and procedures
  • Co-ordinate safety inductions and emergency evacuation training as required and perform fire warden duties. 
  • Co-ordinate Collingwood Yards site access for hirers
  • Liaise with and induct security personnel as required
  • Ensure all equipment, venue and facilities are restored to standard post event
  • Ensure safe working order and maintenance of all technical equipment and perform general duties within the venue including, identification of maintenance needs, completion of maintenance tasks and co-ordinating repair
  • Oversee external crew’s usage of venue equipment and advise on best practise
  • Be onsite to supervise event delivery, serving as the primary point of contact for artists and hirers
  • Provide show report feedback to the Music Market Manager and recommend solutions for any issues identified
  • Contribute to Music Market reporting processes as required 
  • Other duties as required

Senior Music and Licensing Manager – West One Music Group (Sydney)

West One Music Group is a collaborative community of the brightest minds in music, dedicated to producing music for media. Reporting to the Global CEO based in Los Angeles, the successful candidate will be responsible for generating music usage, creating relationships with music users and gaining deep knowledge of the broadcast industry and how music is used in these territories as well as managing the territory and sales team in Sydney.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Salesforce, Field Sales, Cold Calling, Account Management and 5 years of Sales experience in media preferably.
  • Skills: communication, administration, licensing, sales, relationship building, strategic planning, Salesforce.

  • Attending to all phases of the sales cycles with a goal of increasing quality of service to new and existing clients
  • Tracking customer behavior and entering data into our CRM to build and maintain an active client list
  • Responding to client briefs for music requests and ensuring clients have access to our music through all delivery mediums
