Roland Store Product Specialist – Roland Corporation Australia (Sydney)

The good folks at Roland – you know the ones – are seeking applicants for the position of Product Specialist at their Sydney Roland Store. Ideally, you’ll have a background in musical instruments and retail, as well as all the nous required to run a retail store effectively.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Previous sales experience, ideally in a retail environment
  • The confidence and organisational skills to manage all aspects of a busy retail environment, including customer service, merchandising, inventory management and reporting
  • Excellent communication skills, as you will be required to build relationships and interact appropriately with customers, the host store team, artists and the team at Roland Australia
  • The successful applicant will be able to play a couple of different instruments to a reasonable level, but, more importantly, have a strong understanding about the applications of all musical instruments and can relate to different types of musicians
  • Experience in planning, organising and implementing online or offline events, and presenting videos on social media channels is considered advantageous

Marketing Manager, ANZ – Ultra Music (Sydney)

Ultra Music are on the hunt to hire a new marketing guru to take the reins and help promote the label in Australia and New Zealand.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • 3-5 years experience in the music industry
  • A great interest and knowledge of Dance Music, with awareness of how Ultra Music fits into the music market in Australia and New Zealand
  • A strong understanding of how the music industry operates in your market, with solid existing relationships across Digital, Radio, Press, Social Media, and other platforms
  • A working knowledge of Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Soundcloud, Beatport, Amazon, YouTube and all other DSPs, as well as a strong understanding of DSP trends and emerging streaming businesses in respective markets
  • Creative, innovative, strategic outlook on marketing tactics and channels with ability to generate new marketing ideas
  • Comprehensive knowledge of digital marketing and social networks, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and all relevant and various local and/or up and coming social media channels; Understanding and interest in Live Streaming and other digital performance trends and opportunities

Tasks / Responsibilities Include:

Synchronisation Manager – Warner Chappell Music (Sydney)

The publishing division of Warner Music Australia, Warner Chappell Music are looking for a publishing and licensing professional to join their Sydney team as Synchronisation Manager. Ideally, you’ll have previous experience in music licensing for a publisher or record label, and a broad understanding of how pitching pertains to the music and advertising sector.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Prior experience in Music Publishing or a related field within the music industry, bringing an extensive knowledge of music and a passion about staying on top of new releases and trends
  • Ability to be innovative, anticipate needs, create efficient and effective processes and suggest change/improvements within the scope of work is highly valued
  • With strong communication and relationship building abilities, you will provide excellent customer service to our industry partners

Senior Artistic Director – Warner Chappell Music (Sydney)

Another gig with Warner Chappell! This one revolves around all things artist management and A&R, and centres around the successful candidate building up Warner Chappell’s A&R strategy and branding within the domestic market.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Significant relevant experience in an A&R environment across different musical genres.
  • At least 5 years of relevant and closely related employment experience in similar role(s)
  • Demonstrate commercial growth and ability to focus on projects that will maximise the potential of the roster
  • Demonstrate recent and significant commercial success
  • Be able to network extensively and show that commercial success has allowed significant networks to be established within the music business

  • Manage artistic and media productions to meet quality, cost and timing specifications
  • Lead the coordination of bringing new songwriters and artists international exposure
  • Formulate and develop artistic policies and select and plan artistic programs
  • Control the use of media production facilities such as studios and editing equipment, stage and film equipment and rehearsal time
  • Introduce programs, music, entertainment items
  • Hire and manage artistic staff
