Publicist – SGC Media (Brisbane)

SGC Media are one of Brisbane’s best publicity and media companies, who’ve handled major accounts for the likes of BIGSOUND, Amazon Music, John Butler, Gurrumul, NYE In The Park and 50 Cent in addition to running Purple Sneakers, Countrytown and The Faction. Skills / Experience Required: 

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in music or events publicity

Audio Designer – PlaySide Studios (Melbourne)

One of Australia’s biggest indie game developers, PlaySide Studios, is looking to hire a new Audio Designer to help work on their broad range of projects.

Skills / Experience Required: 

  • Intermediate audio editing, asset synthesis, processing and mixing skills – particularly with SFX and dialogue
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with one or more current DAWs (Logic Pro X / Reaper a plus) and software/plugins (ie. iZotope, Waves, Kontakt etc)
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, and quickly adapt to/manage competing priorities.
  • Proven track record of shipped titles both internal and/or external. Interactive film mediums also a consideration
  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.  Able to assess and identify further opportunities to improve workflow
  • Deep understanding of both the game development process and working in Unity/Unreal
  • Moderate audio scripting abilities (C# / C++)
  • Strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to get the job done without day-to-day direction
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • A tertiary degree or an equivalent professional qualification in a relevant field
  • Understanding of mobile / console games, and the industry as a whole
  • Ability to think on their feet and act quickly

Tasks / Responsibilities Include:

  • Design exceptional audio content to create fun and engaging player experiences
  • Contribute to all aspects of sound design, post-production and implementation as required.  This applies to both linear and interactive content, and across multiple audio styles and game genres
  • Work closely with the Audio Lead to establish unique sonic identities for all projects.  Efficiently action feedback from department Leads or clients to suit project scope and timelines
  • Optimise audio memory allocations and performance to suit individual release platforms
  • Collaboratively design, establish, and troubleshoot key audio system components within Unity and Unreal.
  • Efficiently handle asset management tasks and assistance in documentation where needed (asset management is a whole team effort)
  • Liaise with producers, Audio team members, and other department/project team members to ensure audio tasks are within time/budget
  • Work alongside the other Audio team members in a professional manner, and provide thoughts on improvements to all projects studio-wide. Also expected to work at a technical level with all other members of staff in all areas of expertise
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of Audio team workflow and efficiency by sharing relevant experience and skill, both verbally and through demonstration and/or documentation
  • Provide mentorship and onboarding of any junior members of the team

Touring & Production Coordinator – Sony Music Australia (Sydney)

Sony’s merchandise team are looking to add a savvy music professional with touring and merchandise experience to assist with their touring and production endeavours as live music continues to open up into 2021.

Skills / Experience Required: 

  • Minimum of two years relevant experience is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills, time management, attention to detail and follow up
  • Strategic thinker and creative marketer

Tasks / Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage ongoing tour operations and logistics
  • Manage production of all artist merchandise, local and offshore
  • Forecast individual projections, identifying final gross, per head, touring expenses, venue fees
  • Research previous artist products lines/sales history
  • Determine sizing and quantities that fit a band’s demographic
  • Help navigate split/drop shipments, diminish overstocking/spacing issues
  • Hire local merchandise sellers and determine venue sales capabilities
  • Manage touring inventory and organise reruns as needed
  • Organise logistics to and from warehouse, suppliers, and venues
  • Supervise and track product shipping/logistics ensuring tour merchandise arrives in time
  • Retrieve tour sales/settlements, liaise with artist manager/tour manager directly, and provide updates
  • Submit purchase orders and manage invoicing to artists
  • Work with the finance department on tour settlements
  • Manage stock in office and pack stock shipments as required

Online Content Coordinator – Big Music (Sydney)

Based out of Crows Nest, Big Music operates one of Australia’s largest online music stores, and is a leading retailer of all things guitars and audio accessories. They’re looking to hire a part-time Online Content Coordinator to assist their E-Commerce team with website maintenance, content management and marketing support for 20 hours a week.

Skills / Experience Required: 

  • Strong computer proficiency including advanced Excel skills
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic graphic design capabilities (Photoshop / Indesign)

Skills / Experience Required: 

  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience in consumer, digital media, brand or entertainment marketing
  • Experienced in media planning and/or partnership marketing is highly regarded and subscription service brand experience would be an advantage
