Social Media & Content Manager – Sony Music Entertainment Australia (Sydney)

The Entertainment division of Sony Music Australia are on a hiring spree right now! This time around, they’re looking for a digital savvy Social Media & Content Manager to join their Sydney offices and help develop strategy to grow target audiences and work alongside a roster of label acts.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • 3-5 years of direct social media & content experience
  • An expert understanding of how each social media channel works and how to plan content so that it is engaging to relevant target audiences on those channels
  • An expert storyteller with a solid understanding of how to deliver narratives through digital content
  • A great aptitude for self-learning and ability to stay on top of (and gain expertise in) emerging social media channels, new features, trends, and market movements
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent ability to multitask and problem-solving
  • Advanced skills in MS Office suite
  • Advanced photoshop/Canva/content creation skills
  • Passion and love of music and the music industry
  • Experience formulating and delivering social media & content strategies for musicians and/or entertainment products will be considered a plus

Tasks / Responsibilities Include:

  • Delivering end-to-end social media and content strategies, based on the core objectives and audience goals of the campaign
  • Lead and participate in creative ideation sessions for our artists
  • Work closely with the Senior Digital & Audience Development Manager to build social and content strategies to support CRM efforts
  • Conceptualise, brief, and optimise social and content creative campaigns for our artists
  • Build and maintain direct relationships with artists and managers (as well as third-party social media agencies & partners to our artists) to develop and create content
  • Develop and execute influencer marketing opportunities and engagements for their artists, working with our agency support to execute
  • Initiate, brief, and manage the creation and production of relevant artist social content
  • Plan, monitor, and appraise results by tracking metrics on audiences and content throughout the life of a campaign
  • Proactively provide campaign analysis and interpretation of relevant data and insights to the stakeholder group, and make recommendations for mid-campaign and future campaign optimisations
  • Host artist social on-boarding sessions for your artists, educating and empowering them with social media platforms to grow and engage their audiences, as well as identifying other opportunities to keep artists up-to-date with current social media trends and opportunities
  • Partner with other business functions to provide creative social & content-led recommendations (such as for brand and commercial partnerships/pitches)

Communications & Marketing Coordinator – Support Act (Remote)

A major player assisting with providing musicians and industry workers with mental health support amid the pandemic, Support Act are looking to hire a part-time Communications & Marketing Coordinator to work with them on a six-month contract.

Skills / Experience Required: 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience and/or formal training in communications and/or PR
  • Demonstrated experience in using website software (WordPress), database software (E-tapestry), email client Mailchimp, or similar
  • Demonstrated ability to create, implement, manage and analyse effective social media content
  • Proven oral, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in event management and promotion, ideally in a not-for-profit environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and proactive approach
  • Work habits which include paying attention to detail and being highly organised
  • Good all round computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Basic graphic design and video editing abilities will be highly regarded

Tasks / Responsibilities Include: 

  • Help to ensure that Support Act meets its Communications Objectives as per the Communications/PR strategy and schedule (to be updated quarterly)
  • Work with our Pro Bono PR advisor, or independently if required, to proactively identify / solicit media coverage for Support Act campaigns and activities
  • Coordinate the production and placement of rich content and copy for blogs, social media, partner publications (including Government) etc to promote Support Act campaigns and activities
  • Coordinate the production and distribution of press releases
  • Manage the production and distribution of regular e-newsletters and EDMs
  • Provide assistance to the CEO, Industry Relations and Partnerships Manager (VIC), First Nations Community Engagement/Social Worker and others in relation to content development and placement, including video production
  • Ensure that our media and industry distribution lists are maintained and up to date
  • Ensure that the Support Act website is maintained and up to date; and that it reflects and promotes current and upcoming campaigns and activities
  • Support the development and implementation of our social media strategy as required, including advertising placement and budgets
  • Support the development and implementation of fundraising and marketing activities as required
  • Support the development of grants applications to Government, corporate Trusts and Foundations
  • Support the development and distribution of internal comms to staff
  • Develop and distribute an online annual report for the AGM held in November
  • Maintain and develop communications policies and procedures

Warehouse Manager – Bernies Music Land (Melbourne)

Based out in Ringwood, Bernies Music Land are a family business who’ve operated for a remarkable 44 years. They’re accepting applications for a Warehouse Manager to take care of receiving, distributing and auditing warehouse stock, with key responsibilities including being responsible for quality control and ensuring that warehouse operations are running smoothly.

Skills / Experience Required: 

  • At least 5 years warehouse experience and a “Can Do” attitude
  • Excellent communication skills and work well independently
  • Basic computer skills (word, excel, completing quote forms online etc.)
  • A fork lift licence, or be willing to train for a forklift licence
  • Up to date Worksafe skills and basic First Aid training
  • Have clearance by Doctor for Lifting

Tasks / Responsibilities Include:

  • Receiving, warehousing, and outgoing distribution of stock, with accurate paperwork completion and stock control
  • Preparation of instruments for display, including unboxing and assembly, moving and connecting, matching accessories, and detailing and cleaning
  • Maintaining a high level of quality control for outgoing goods by carrying out the unboxing, assembly, detailing and pre-delivery check list
  • Moving and lifting of goods
  • Booking and coordination of deliveries, including obtaining freight quotes and preparing freight paperwork
  • Maintaining physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing design layouts; and conducting weekly cleaning and presentation maintenance
  • Managing inventory levels by creating a well organised stock placement and management system, including reconciling with data storage system and auditing team
  • Upholding a high level of health and safety by complying with laws and company procedures
  • Safeguarding warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and stock protocols
