The new PC1-E marks the latest chapter in Jackson's nearly four-decade collaboration with Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen, bringing his signature instrument outside the Custom Shop for the first time.
Jackson has introduced the Pro Series Signature Phil Collen PC1-E, the latest instrument in its long-running partnership with Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen.
Collen debuted his first Jackson signature model back in 1989, and has since developed four distinct signature instruments with the brand, including the Phil Collen PC Archtop, the PC1, the Custom Shop PC Supreme, and the PC1 Ninja. The new PC1-E builds on the longtime PC1 while marking the model’s first appearance in Jackson’s Pro Series, making it Collen’s first signature guitar available outside the Custom Shop.

“Being relic’d, my signature PC1-E is worn in, but it is definitely not worn out,” said Collen. “It has many of the qualities of my vintage PC1s, like the pickup, compound radius fingerboard and Floyd Rose, wrapped in a beautiful aesthetic that delivers. I’m loving it, and I can’t put it down.”
The guitar is built around a genuine mahogany body with a caramelized maple neck reinforced with graphite, and an ebony fingerboard featuring a compound radius and twenty-four jumbo frets. Electronics come from a DiMarzio X2N bridge humbucker and DiMarzio Sugar Chakra middle pickup, paired with a PC1 Sustainer Driver running on an 18V battery system, letting Collen sustain notes indefinitely at the flip of a switch. Push-pull coil splitting adds further tonal flexibility.
Tuning stability comes courtesy of a Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo with locking tuners, aimed at handling dive bombs and string bends without drifting out of tune. The guitar is finished in black distressed finish with gold hardware for a road-worn aesthetic, and ships with a foam core case included.

Phil regularly visits the factory to work with our team as his instruments continue to evolve, and he’s become part of the DNA of Jackson over nearly four decades. The PC1-E is a meaningful next chapter in that relationship, bringing his signature instrument to a new generation of players.”
The release follows another recent milestone for Collen, with Def Leppard having been honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
