triple j’s Unearthed High music competition is back for 2019

Winners of the competition will be flown to the triple j studio to record and mix their music, as well as recieve invaluable music industry advice before their tracks are broadcast across all of triple j’s mighty music radio platforms.

Responsible for championing the likes of Grinspoon, Killing Heidi, Vance Joy, Missy Higgins and more, entrants into the Unearthed competition will be given the opportunity to gain exposure on a much wider scale. In recent years, Unearther High has aimed at the school age demographic, helping Japanesse Wallpaper, Asta, Gretta Ray, Arno Faraji and Stonefield gain a bigger audience.

In addition to the main prize, the best entry from an Indigenous artist will also be eligible to win a songwriting workshop at their school run by the APRA AMCOS Songmakers program as well as ongoing mentorship from the Association of Artist Managers.

Last year’s winner KIAN said, “Winning Unearthed High 100% sparked a major change in my life. The day I found out I had won I was feeling a lot of things. Excitement, happiness, wonder, embarrassment… But I also felt as though something happened, a piece of my puzzle that is life clicked into place and I felt the beginning of something that was going to impact my life forever.”

To enter your beats or band, upload an original piece of music to the triple j Unearthed website before midnight on Monday July 29.
