The diverse program features fifty different music talks, workshops, meetings, parties and performances held over two days in and around the Arts Centre Melbourne precinct. It represents an invaluable opportunity for musicians to advance their career, while also offering worthwhile content for creatives, students and music fans.
In conjunction with Melbourne Music Week, Face The Music will also feature a special guest speaker, New York-based Editor in Chief of Noisey, Fred Pessaro. The pioneering music section of Vice Media, Noisey has a keen eye on the local Australian scene with a penchant for supporting our emergent talent overseas. He will be joined by Matthew Coyte (Rolling Stone Australia) and writers Brodie Lancaster and Marcus Teague in a discussion exploring trends in music journalism.
Notable workshops and exclusive meetings include the triple j Listening Lounge session, The Evolution of Digital Music workshop and the Music Hacks digital marketing masterclass. It wouldn’t be a music event without performances though, and indie pop act Ali Barter is scheduled to perform a lunchtime set.
It will be essential listening, learning, viewing and participating for all music makers and music supporters.
