2015 was a big year for Australian independent music, but it was an especially big year for Courtney Barnett, who unsurprisingly was the big winner of the night taking out Best Independent Artist, Best Independent Album for Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit and Best Indpendent Single for ‘Depreston.’
This year’s Best Hip Hop Album Award went to Seth Sentry for his release Strange New Past, while #1 Dads took our the coveted Breakthrough Artist Of The Year Ward, on the back of his album About Face.
Milk! Records took out best Independent label with an impressive stable that boasts the talents of Jen Cloher, Fraser A. Gorman and woman of the hour Courtney Barnett. They were just some of the winners, for a full list of the awards and the artists that took them home see below.
