Brand New Automated Vinyl Pressing Plant Set To Open

Investors look to believe the same thing now, with a number of new pressing plants announced in recent months, as existing infrastructure struggles to keep up with demand. The latest announcement is from relative newcomers Hand Drawn Records for a new automated pressing plant, the first of its kind in 30 years.

The Dallas-based company were founded in 2014 under the mantra of ease and efficiency. This focus continues with the new plant, as they hope to make the vinyl ordering process as simple as possible for the musicians, allowing them to focus the creative process rather than the manufacture.

Hopefully this newfound will to invest in pressing plants will make it easier for smaller artists to have their music pressed on vinyl, and will stop them being squeezed out by artists on major record labels, as has been the case in the past.

This news comes hot on the heels of the announcement that there will be a new plant opening in Adelaide in the near future, which will also hopefully help smaller Australian artists put their music on wax.

The future is now looking truly bright for this antiquated, expensive and fragile medium that we all somewhat illogically love.
