Australian Women In Music Awards Winners Announced

Christine Anu has been awarded The Calile Hotel Artistic Excellence Award and the SSI Diversity in Music Award in recognition for a career that spanned Music, TV and Radio, and garnered 17 ARIA Award nominations and has helped advancement cultural diversity and inclusivity.

 

 

AWMA Emerging Artists winner Alice Skye has been recognised after her debut album Friends with Feelings emerged in 2018, while multi-AIR award nominee Mojo Juju fought of tough competition from NGAIIRE and thelma Plum when she was awarded the Songwriter Award for her album Native Tongue.

 

Meanwhile, Tashi Hall has been recognised for her outstanding photography and music video work, taking home the awards for Music Photography and Film-maker awards that recognise her body of work in the industry. 

 

The second-annual ceremony took place at Brisbane’s Powerhouse, while Katie Noonan, who also won the award for Creative Leadership, performed to the crowd that gathered to honour and advocate for women in music.
