AUSTRALIAN CHARITY SUPPORT ACT TO HONOUR PAUL KELLY

PAUL KELLY ONLINE.jpg

Support Act is the only Australian charity that supports music professionals in their time of need, holding this annual event in order honour the enriching role the music industry plays in Australian society, and the wonderful achievements of individual industry members.

Paul Kelly is an undoubtedly deserving recipient, the renowned songwriter encapsulating the Australian experience with an immense musical career spanning 30 years.

Across his 21 studio albums Kelly has engaged with social issues and the community at large – ‘From Little Things Big Things Grow’ a song that, with co-writer Kev Carmody, describes how the Gurundji people’s claim sparked the Indigenous land rights movement. His community engagement in many respects, is unparalleled in the music industry.

Kelly will also be performing on the night, with other featured performances from Julia Stone, Thelma Plum, and Urthbox.
