Selected by APRA members, this year’s shortlist features songs from 25 artists, including first time nominees Mallrat, Tropical Fuck Storm and Tones And I. There’s also plenty of repeat offenders, with Paul Kelly, Sampa The Great, Tame Impala and Kate Miller-Heidke getting a nod for their contributions.
The shortlist is set to be stripped down to a mere five artists before the winner is revealed at the APRA Music Awards ceremony in Sydney this April. APRA are also set to announce a slew of other nominees for other catergories in coming weeks, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for that too. In the mean time, get acquainted with this year’s SOTY nominees below.
