APRA AMCOS ANNOUNCES WINNER OF THE 2016 TED ALBERT AWARD

An Australian music establishment, Cold Chisel has sold almost seven million album, its members – Jimmy Barnes, Ian Moss, Don Walker, Phil Small and Steve Prestwich – responsible for classic hits such as ‘Cheap Wine’, ‘Choir Girl’ and ‘Khe Sanh’.

 

Never one to slip from the Australian consciousness, the hit-making five-piece have also received significant contemporary success. In 2011 the band’s Light The Nitro tour sold over 300,000 tickets, becoming the biggest-ever undertaken by an Australian band. While last year’s album The Perfect Crime was #1 on the ARIA Australian Artists Album chart is quickly approaching platinum.

 

They join previous winners including Paul Kelly, Jimmy Little, Slim Dusty and The Seekers. And will be helped in celebration with performances from The Living End, Gang of Youths and Guy Sebastian, and many others on the night.
