Instigated to help assist venues improve sound attenuation and overall acoustic quality to minimise noise pollution around surrounding businesses and houses, more than 50 venues have received grants in the years the program has been running, including keynote northside Melbourne venues such as The Evelyn, 24 Moons and The Night Cat.
Good Music Neighbours is part of the Victorian Government’s $22 million four-year Music Works package, aiming to assist both large and small venues with soundproofing and acoustic treatment to keep Melbourne’s diverse music scene alive.
