Three days of programming bring together label representatives, artists and industry leaders from Australia and around the world.
AIR’s Indie-Con Australia is returning to Adelaide from July 29 to 31, bringing together independent labels, artists, distributors and industry professionals from across Australia and internationally. The 10th iteration of the conference expands this year with A2IM’s Indie Week Australian Edition, marking the global organisation’s second time running the program in Australia.

The program covers touring logistics, artist-run labels and self-managed artists, AI implementation, sync licensing, artist development, distribution channels, gaming applications and metadata strategy. There’s a case study on Folk Bitch Trio, alongside spotlights on music developments across Asia, AXEAN countries and Scandinavia. A dedicated workshop examines opportunities in the Indonesian market through YouTube Music and Sounds Australia.
International speakers include Larry Bringsjord (Fono, Norway), Kukuh Arfianto (Sun Eater Group, Indonesia), Joe Taylor (Untitled Records, UK), Morgan Perry (Third Man Records, USA) and Michael Chase (MGM Digital). Alongside them are Australian label representatives, artists including Fanny Lumsden and Poppy Reid, journalists and producers spanning multiple genres. A2IM’s Indie Week program focuses on metadata, fan lifecycle strategy, long-term catalogue building and navigating industry disruption. Keynote sessions feature Jason Peterson from Go Digital and Thaddeus Rudd from Mom+Pop Music. Adelaide hosts the conference as Australia’s UNESCO-designated City of Music, with support from the South Australian Government’s Music Development Office. The event runs parallel to AIR’s annual invite-only AIR Awards, held July 30 at Adelaide Town Hall.
