Headstocks be damned— Ibanez range expands for 2025

Ibanez EHB
Words by Mixdown staff

The EHB expands further with five and six string offerings with various finishes, hardware and pickups depending on your preference.

New for 2025, the EHB range of basses from Ibanez extends (pardon the pun!) to the new EHB1675MS with a Pale Moon Ebony top and Ash body, couple with EHB5 9-piece neck constructed from Panga Panga and Walnut with Graphite reinforcement rods. The EHB1135MS is another 5-string bass with an Ash top and Okoume body and the same 9-piece neck as the EHB1675MS.

EHB1675MS

In 2020, the Ibanez EHB line debuted with seven basses. Five years later, this series encompasses a wide range of options from six-string models to basses with short and medium scale lengths. While their modern design is clear and apparent, their sonic versatility is truly extensive.

On the guitar side, an array of features such as proprietary hardware, specially-designed pickups, and the popular dyna-Mix pickup switching system, the Q series not only brought a much-sought-after headless option to the Ibanez product line, but also offered guitars created with functionality and practicality in mind for today’s guitarists.

While not explicitly new for this year, guitars like the QX527PB feature an array of world-class specs and a forward-thinking, ergonomic design.

QX527PB

The Parallel Wizard neck on the QX527PB is 19mm thick all the way through the entire length. It provides an amazing fretting-hand experience for the players who prefer their instrument held in a higher playing position. The 5pc Roasted Maple/Bubinga construction also offers excellent stability and long-term durability.

Q547PB

The Ibanez Q547PB features R1/Q58 pickup pickup combo is designed specifically for use in headless guitars. They provide a clearly defined sound, facilitating excellent tonal balance through all frequencies. The lows are powerful without being muddy, and the highs are bright and clear, but never harsh. As a result, every single note within the chord structure is well defined and clearly audible. These pickups, with their tonal balance, and extremely low noise performance, work extremely well with both digital and analog effects.
