Head Gap recording Studio
Words by Mixdown staff

For over 18 years, Head Gap Recording Studios has been a cornerstone of Melbourne’s thriving music community.

In December 2024, a fire devastated Head Gap, destroying its physical space. In response to an overwhelming outpouring of community support, Head Gap is pleased to announce a series of fundraising events across Anzac weekend, with all proceeds going toward the studio’s future home.

The events will be held at beloved Melbourne venues, including Northcote Social Club, Cross Street Music Hall, and Shotkickers, kicking off on Friday with a pop-up show at Ravens Yard & Warehouse, across the road from Head Gap’s former home. Catering to all musical tastes, the events include a relaxed jazz matinee show on Saturday, followed by a DIY indie night at Shotkickers. On Sunday afternoon, some of Australia’s finest songwriters come together fo intimate performances. The weekend will close with a high-energy lineup of indie, punk, and heavy bands as a fitting finale.

In addition to the live music events, there will be a community cricket match on Saturday, 22 March, complete with a silent auction, a kids’ cricket session, and a magic show.
