Roland has pushed out a 1.9.2 update for ZENOLOGY GX, the iPad version of its ZEN-Core synthesiser. Less about new features, the update focuses on smoothing out the rough edges.

Built around the same engine that powers the FANTOM and JUPITER-X, ZENOLOGY GX arrived earlier this year, and the new release is a direct response to user feedback. The headline change is a straight volume boost, lifting the app’s overall output level after players found that it too low. Under that, the audio engine now handles dynamic sample-rate changes, running at 44.1, 48 and 96 kHz rather than locking to one, which makes it easier to sit alongside other apps and interfaces.
Playability gets some attention too, with a refined on-screen instrument velocity range and a new Minimum Velocity setting for more natural response. On the iPad, the keys now sit above the system taskbar so input registers more reliably. A couple of visual glitches are gone as well, with the MIX EQ mid-band curve and the LFO display both redrawing properly as they’re edited.
The rest is housekeeping – SVZ files now export straight to the ZGX User/SVZ folder, offline access to packs and presets has been fixed, and copy and paste finally works in the email and password fields at sign-in, complete with paste icons for one-tap entry. There’s also a fix for a crash on iOS 26 when closing the app from the app switcher or windowed mode.
Roland has been open that the big update, AUv3 plugin support, is still in development, alongside a Pro Edit Mode and more to come. For now ZENOLOGY GX stays free through a limited launch period tied to a Roland Account, before it moves to select Roland Cloud memberships later on.
