Focusrite Group has announced the launch of Focusrite Group Japan, a dedicated local division that will oversee distribution, marketing, and customer service for Focusrite, Novation, and ADAM Audio across the Japanese market.

After more than 40 years of building audio tools used by musicians and producers worldwide, Focusrite Group is planting a flag in Japan. The company has announced the launch of Focusrite Group Japan, a dedicated in-market division designed to deepen its connection with Japanese customers and the broader creative community there.

Catch up on all the latest news here.

The move signals more than just a logistics upgrade. Rather than operating through a third-party distribution arrangement, Focusrite Group Japan will handle distribution, marketing, and customer service for three of the group’s most prominent brands — Focusrite, Novation, and ADAM Audio — all under one local roof. For customers and retailers in Japan, that means a more direct line to support, localised marketing, and a company that’s genuinely invested in understanding the specific needs of the Japanese market.

Leading the new division is Kohei Oyamada, an industry veteran with deep roots in the Japanese audio industry. Under his direction, the focus will extend beyond product sales to include artist relations, educational initiatives, and community events — the kind of long-term investment that tends to build brand loyalty rather than just brand awareness.

Group Chief Revenue Officer Damian Hawley was candid about what made the timing right: finding the right team. He noted that the Tokyo office doubles as a creative performance space by night, which says something about the culture they’re building around it. CEO Tim Carroll framed the move as a strategic investment in a market known for its passionate, deeply engaged community of audio professionals and enthusiasts across every genre and level.

For those familiar with Japan’s music culture, none of this is surprising. It’s a market that takes audio seriously — from bedroom producers to professional studios — and the demand for localised, responsive support from a company of Focusrite Group’s scale has been there for a while.
