Fender expand the American Ultra range with new Luxe models

Words by Will Brewster

Featuring matching headstocks and Floyd Rose tremolos.

Just over a year after their introduction to the market, Fender have offered a revamped run of their American Ultra series with the new Luxe Telecasters and Stratocasters, taking the two iconic instruments further into the future than ever before.

In addition to receiving cool aesthetic touches like matching painted headstocks and sculpted bodies, the new American Ultra Luxe models feature unique augmented D neck profiles with rolled fretboard edges, as well as slick 10″-14″ compound radius fretboards, stainless steel frets, bone nuts and advanced wiring.

New for 2021, the Fender American Ultra Luxe Stratocaster boasts a sculpted ash body with Ultra Noiseless Vintage pickups, and is available in Two-Tone Sunburst and Plasma Red Burst finishes.

For those who want to get their shred on, the American Ultra Luxe HSS Stratocaster features the same specs as the aforementioned SSS model, yet packs an authentic original Floyd Rose tremolo system for slippery dive-bombs and pinch harmonics. This one can be purchased in either Silverburst or Mystic Black, with the former featuring a maple fretboard and the latter being adorned with rosewood.

Similarly, the American Ultra Luxe Telecaster packs a sculpted ash body and Noiseless pickups, and comes in Two-Tone Sunburst and Transparent Surf Green.

There’s also the option for a beefy American Ultra Luxe Telecaster with two Custom Double Tap humbuckers and a Floyd Rose tremolo, available in Mystic Black and presenting a wildly unique take on the stock standard twang machine.
