ENGL has just released two new products aimed squarely at high-gain players: the Ravager IR amp and an updated version of their legendary E412XXL cabinet, now loaded with Eminence Karnivore speakers.
Tracking at home, rehearsing with your band, loading into venues – whatever it is, ENGL’s new releases cover both ends of the spectrum. The compact Ravager IR brings professional tube tone to any space, whilst the updated E412XXLK cabinet delivers the kind of massive, articulate sound that metal and heavy players demand. Here’s what each one brings to the table.

E725 Ravager
Guitarists who want versatility without the painful load-ins will appreciate the E725 Ravager. This 20-watt, two-channel tube amp blends classic tube warmth with practical features for home recording and silent practice, and it’s all packed into a compact lunchbox chassis.
Running 12AX7/ECC83 tubes in the preamp and EL84s in the power amp section, the Ravager delivers dynamic, harmonically rich tones. Its dual-channel design spans clean tones to overdrive and handles the stage, studio sessions and bedroom practice equally as well.
The built-in IR loader is a real game-changer. With four impulse response slots (three of which you can load via USB), you can access virtually any cabinet simulation you need. This makes recording direct or practising through headphones more practical, while still maintaining a professional sound quality. An XLR output covers live and studio applications, whether you’re tracking at home or running direct at a venue.
Power options matter too. Switch between 20 watts, 5 watts, 1 watt, or turn the speaker off entirely. Crank up the tubes for proper saturation without blowing out your eardrums or copping a noise complaint.
E412XXLK
The updated E412XXL pairs ENGL’s oversized cabinet design with Eminence Karnivore speakers. The four 12-inch drivers have been developed specifically for metal and hard rock by Kristian Kohle and the Eminence engineering team. These speakers deliver tight bass, cutting mids and controlled top end for maximum definition under high gain.
The oversized straight cabinet design provides massive low-frequency response and huge projection, whilst 240 watts of power handling at 8 ohms means it’ll take whatever your tube head can throw at it. Its tour-grade construction features robust birch plywood, reinforced corners, a metal grille and heavy-duty casters built for reliable road use.
This cabinet particularly shines with drop tunings and extended-range guitars, maintaining precise articulation even when you’re pushing high volumes.
