Emvoice is on show, its ‘Lucy’ voice having moments of glissando and vibrato, as well as ‘Lucy’ having her own voice that Emvoice brings to the table.
Emvoice, the intelligent sample-generated vocal plugin we’ve featured heavily in Mixdown, sings the lead vocal on Jeckyll & Hyde’s new single “Over The Rainbow”. The track, a cover of the classic song, incorporates elements of EDM, from house to trance, with club-stomping beats and some trap-inspired percussion.

Emvoice is on show, it’s ‘Lucy’ voice having moments of glissando and vibrato, as well as ‘Lucy’ having her own voice that Emvoice brings to the table.
Emvoice employs a complex sound-engine that takes samples and re-appropriates them to generate human-sounding performance from the digital world. Employing formant shifting, subtle pitches changes and emotive performance, Emvoice can be used to bolster lead vocals, or in Jeckyll & Hyde’s case, used to sing the lead vocal entirely. Lucy is one of a growing range of voices available, being listed as a “soft, sultry female vocalist” while Keela is a “a pop/EDM female powerhouse”, and a male voice ‘Jay’ is “built for pop and rock”.
The use of ‘Lucy’ in this track makes sense for the arrangement, the digital, robotic nature of the music blending well with a voice as perfect as ‘Lucy’, while still retaining some of the imperfection that makes the human voice so captivating as a lead instrument.
Emvoice is available now, with Voices on sale as well!
