The program is designed with a dedicated focus on independent artists stunted from two years of disruptions with some of Australia’s most innovative and inspiring artists – Nina Las Vegas, Human Movement and Setwun – to host an intensive full-day of masterclasses located at The Lab inside the Powerhouse Museum.

The hosts will spend a full day with 25 participants in each group, experiencing three 90-minute sessions across each of these pillars:

  • Create – all about music-making
  • Perform – all about live performance development and DJing
  • Amplify – marketing, branding, promoting yourself and engaging with fans, brands and media, online and offline

EMC said “each masterclass host has been handpicked to take participants on a thorough end-to-end journey throughout the day, providing a valuable, intimate, thought-provoking and socially engaging opportunity to hone skills with experts in electronic and dance music”.

“The program caters to a range of skill sets and experiences, including beginners.”

Following on from EMC Masterclasses, the inaugural ‘EMC Next Generation Scholarship’ program offers 6 months of intensive professional development to three chosen participants (one from each masterclass at EMC’s The Reboot).

Created to support emerging artists in electronic and dance music, the program’s multi-faceted approach provides one-on-one professional development sessions for each participant, working with industry experts in the areas of Artist Management, Music Production, Live Performance Development, Marketing and PR, and DIY Releasing.

EMC announced its full program and speakers in January which will be “unpacking the deep changes across the electronic and dance music industry, and rebooting in-person connections throughout our community”.

It features speakers such as Milan Ring, Luude and his team, Cabu, dameeeela, Made by Tsuki, The Meeting Tree, Sean Gardner, Millie Sykes, and more.

With a focus on industry experts and artists, the conference will address issues that are dominating the electronic and dance music sector, from mental health, Web3, VR, club culture in 2022, blockchain and the booming creators economy.
