Progressive metal icons return down under with their classic lineup and a career-spanning set.

Progressive titans Dream Theater are bringing their 40th Anniversary Tour to Australia in February 2026, marking their first visit in 15 years.

The tour is extra special as it reunites drummer Mike Portnoy with James LaBrie, John Petrucci, John Myung, and Jordan Rudess for an “Evening With Dream Theater” — no supports, just two hours of pure prog mastery.

Tour dates

  • 10 February – Hindley Street Music Hall, Adelaide
  • 12 February – Margaret Court Arena, Melbourne
  • 14 February – ICC Sydney Theatre, Sydney
  • 15 February – Fortitude Music Hall, Brisbane

Having just wrapped a sold-out European run, Dream Theater will deliver classics and deep cuts from across their celebrated catalogue. With a career that spans from the era-defining Images & Words through to 2021’s Grammy-winning A View From The Top of the World, fans can expect a setlist that pays tribute to four decades of progressive metal innovation.

“The excitement we have felt from the fans since the first leg of this tour was announced has been overwhelming!” the band shared. “We can’t wait to continue this historic celebration of 40 years together with everyone in Asia and Australia next year.”

Dream Theater’s return represents not just a reunion, but a new era, with their sixteenth album Parasomnia continuing to push boundaries while honouring their legacy. For Australian fans, this run is a rare chance to experience one of prog metal’s most important bands at full power.
