David Bendeth’s Hoser XT 2 brings Ward-Beck hardware tone to every channel in your mix

Modelled on the Ward-Beck Systems M462B hardware unit, The Hoser XT 2 delivers platinum-grade analog tone without the CPU hit.

Putting vintage hardware-grade EQ on every channel of a mix used to be either a bit of a fantasy or a very expensive reality. Hoser XT 2, the second release in the David Bendeth Signature Series, aims to change that.

Catch up on all the latest news here.

Modelled directly on the Ward-Beck Systems M462B hardware EQ, this analog-modelled plugin is designed to bring warm, cohesive character to your mixes that Bendeth has spent decades chasing through real hardware. Push the gain as hard as you like, and you’ll get rich, fat analog tone with no harshness or digital artefacts. Running a full session with EQ on every track is exactly the kind of scenario this plugin was built for.

Alongside the sound, CPU efficiency was a deliberate design goal – the plugin is built to sit on every track in a session without the processing hit.

The XT version separates itself with three channel modes: standard stereo/mono, mid/side processing and independent left/right control. The hardware never had mid/side capability, but it’s a natural addition to the plugin – the developers said it was “begging for it.” Being able to process left and right channels separately is also useful for widening a mono track or tonally matching a stereo source.

Purchasing The Hoser XT 2 also includes The Hoser, the more compact, stereo/mono-only version of the same plugin. The two plugins suit different situations, with The Hoser covering straightforward stereo/mono duties and the XT stepping in when mid/side or independent stereo control is needed.

For engineers and producers chasing analog warmth across a full mix, The Hoser XT 2 is worth a look. Head here to find out more.
