After their successful launch last year, the industry bodies are hosting free online sessions to support young songwriters who are in the early stages of their music career, and they’ve enlisted some big name mentors to help out along the way.

This year The Push’s Song Writing Sessions have recruited eight Australian artists as mentors to help young songwriters develop their songwriting skills and giving the opportunity for participants to workshop their own song.

The mentors include Sampa The Great, Courtney Barnett, Dallas Woods, Tia Gostelow, Sycco, Make Them Suffer/Internet Friends, The Chats and Cry Club.

“It’s amazing to now have this opportunity to help coach young music makers in their musical journey,” Sampa The Great said of the opportunity in a newly shared press statement.

The opportunity is open to young people living, working or studying in Australia aged 14-25 years old, with the program only open for a limited number of young people via Zoom.
